The blue of the summer day was breathtakingly brilliant, we were camping, and one thing I love about camping is there is time to take photos like this, just because.
What is beyond this dead tree, this moon, this blue?
There is the reality of planets, black holes, supernovas, red dwarf stars, white dwarf stars, comets, nebula, quasars, and billions of other galaxies!
The fact that you and I can’t see outer space does not make it any less real.
Just as there is the reality of gargantuan space beyond this blue, there is the reality of eternity beyond this physical existence.
God inhabits eternity.
“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.” (Rom 1:20 NKJV) (emphasis mine)
Invisible…yet seen.
Invisibly seen.
God is invisibly seen by looking at His creation.
Are you looking?

Jo this is a lovely presentation of the defence of our great Creator. In the UK we have just had Storm Dudley and are bracing ourselves for the even bigger Storm Eunice tomorrow, we can’t see these storms but we can certainly see the effect of them. Just so we can’t see our God, but we can see His hands at work – hallelujah! God bless you dear sister.

Hi Alan, I hope the storm has passed by this time, and the effect has not been too damaging! Thanks for your comment! Blessings to you.

I’m having my teenage daughter read this post Jo! She and I are currently reading a biography called “Children of the Storm” about a young Christian girl growing up in the Soviet Union in the 1960’s. Because she will not refute God she is being forced to endure re-education classes at her elementary school. Time and again her teacher throws at her that the first Soviet man has traveled to space and has reported that he did not see God. Your words “Just as there is the reality of gargantuan space beyond this blue, there is the reality of eternity beyond this physical existence” is the perfect apologetic response.

And this comment got lost in my spam too….oh dear I really need to check more often! That book sounds great! I will have to try and find it. Do you homeschool your kids Beth?

No worries Jo! I realized on my last post that about half of my regular readers comments ended up in spam. I’m no quite sure what is going on. Yes, we do homeschool our kids. My husband and I are both public school teachers and could see where our education system was headed. We wanted more for our girls but couldn’t afford private school so my husband suggested homeschooling. It’s been the best and hardest teaching assignment of my career. We use a literature rich curriculum which has introduced us to all sorts of wonderful books and afforded many quality conversations.

Wonderful! I’m an ex-homeschooler myself…started for similar reasons and ended up homeschooling for ten years! Our 4 are all adults now. God looked after us on a single income during those years, and it was the best decision we ever made for our family. 🙂
